Tatarstan President: VTB bank is our long-standing strategic partner

On September 14, at an annual meeting of regional heads of the VTB bank in Kazan, Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov said that the bank is a long-standing strategic partner of Tatarstan and has actively cooperated with the republic for 15 years.

President and chairman of the VTB Bank Andrey Kostin took part in the meeting.

Rustam Minnikhanov thanked leadership of the bank for holding the event in Kazan, and noted that VTB works with 4,000 corporate clients of the republic. Over the last two years the loan portfolio of the bank has increased by 2.5 times and made 60 bln roubles.

According to Minnikhanov, the VTB is an absolute leader by the amount of granted funds under the programme “Programmes 6,5”, the share of the bank makes 70 per cent of all loans, 14 projects for the sum of 3 bln roubles have been implemented. Rustam Minnikhanov thanked the VTB for supporting Tatarstan projects in agricultural sector.

Tatarstan President informed that the Gross Regional Product of Tatarstan increased by 3,9 per cent, the industrial output increased by 3,3 per cent,  the volume of capital investments made 211 bln roubles. Tatarstan is in top ten Russian leading regions by basic indexes of social and economic development. For the third year in a row the republic has topped the national rating of the investment climate of Russian regions.

Andrey Kostin said that Tatarstan is one of the most dynamic regions in the country and important for the VTB business. The bank continues conducting a constructive dialogue with leadership of the republic and business community aimed at the development of social and economic potential, and supporting prospective projects.
