On September 29, in the afternoon, Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov paid a visit to Naberezhnye Chelny to take part in solemn events dedicated the Day of Machine Builders.
Speaking at the solemn ceremony, Minnikhanov said that the machine building complex of Tatarstan includes about 150 large and medium-sized enterprises, employing more than 135,000 people. For eight months of 2017, the output has amounted to 290 billion roubles, he said.
The basic areas such as automobile industry, aviation industry and helicopter construction, shipbuilding, precision engineering and instrument making are steadily developing. Minnikhanov noted that products made by Tatarstan enterprises successfully compete with their foreign analogs and often outperform them. The machine-building complex of the republic has been constantly modernized, he said.
"Our machine builders make a worthy contribution to maintaining and strengthening the national defense capability. Last year, defense enterprises completed the state defense order in time and in full,” Minnikhanov said.
"Highly qualified specialists are the main asset of the industry. Our enterprises are developing new approaches and solutions in personnel training. A powerful structure of professional education based on joint work of resource centers, universities and enterprises has been established. The Worldskills movement is actively developing in the republic," Minnikhanov said. “The introduction of the Digital Enterprise elements is a promising area of work. I would like to ask all organizations to involve more actively in this work," he continued.
Tatarstan President expressed special words of gratitude to old stagers of the industry. "Your invaluable experience and contribution to fostering the younger generation contribute to increasing the prestige of blue-collar and engineering jobs. It is gratifying that generations of workers are working in many enterprises," he added.
Summing up, Minnikhanov handed in state awards of the Russian Federation and the Republic of Tatarstan to the most distinguished employees of the machine-building industry.
