Rustam Minnikhanov takes part in meeting with leadership of Japan bank for international cooperation (JBIC)

On October 2, during his working visit to Japan, at the meeting with leadership of Japan bank for international cooperation, Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov said: “We will be glad to expand cooperation with JBIC.”

Rustam Minnikhanov thanked leadership of the bank for the attention to the republic and reminded that the agreement between JBIC and Bank for Development and Foreign Economic Affairs (Vnesheconombank) on granting tied loan for the construction of the fertiliser complex producing ammonia, granulated carbamide and methanol in Mendeleevsk for the sum of 1 bln dollars was signed in 2011.

The project was implemented with the participation of Japanese companies Mitsubishi Heavy Industries and Sojitz in cooperation with Chinese partners. The plant started working in 2016.

Minnikhanov also reminded that JBIC signed an agreement on the creation of the Platform for supporting Japanese investments in the Far East in April 2017. The platform can become a “single window” for Japanese businessmen, who will receive full-service support.  

CEO and Director for infrastructure financing of JBIC Tadashi Maeda, in his turn, said that the bank considers the Republic of Tatarstan one of strategic partners.
