Tatarstan President: The implementation of state youth policy is unconditional priority in our activity

On October 9, in the Kazan Kremlin, speaking at a meeting of the regional anti-terrorist commission on countering the penetration of the ideology of terrorism and extremism, national and religious extremism and xenophobia, as well as criminal subculture into the youth environment, Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov said: "The implementation  of state youth policy is unconditional priority in our activity". 

Tatarstan State Counsellor Mintimer Shaimiev, Chairman of the regional State Council Farid Mukhametshin, Tatarstan Prime Minister Alexey Pesoshin, Chief of Staff of Tatarstan President’s Administration Asgat Safarov, members of anti-terrorist commission, heads of ministries, departments, organizations and municipalities, representatives of territorial federal agencies took part in the meeting.

In his opening speech Minnikhanov stressed that extremism and terrorism have become one of the most dangerous problems of our time, which is topical for Russia as well.

Minnikhanov said that 24 extremist crimes and 5 terrorist acts committed by leaders and active participants of youth associations have been registered in the republic this year. More than 70 young adherents of radical neo-Nazi ideology have been brought to administrative responsibility.

"There is no doubt that it is much more correct to prevent extremism and terrorism among young people than to eliminate the consequences of such events," Minnikhanov added.

Deputy Chairman of the regional State Council Yuri Kamaltynov, First Deputy Minister of Education and Science of the republic Andrey Pominov and others officials made reports at the meeting.
