Rustam Minnikhanov meets Deputy Director General of the Ho Chi Minh City Branch of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Vietnam and newly appointed Ambassador of Vietnam to Russia

On November 20, during his working visit to Vietnam, Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov had a meeting with Deputy Director General of the Ho Chi Minh City Branch of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Vietnam and newly appointed Ambassador of Vietnam to Russia.

Tatarstan President thanked the Vietnamese colleagues for their assistance in organizing the Vietnam – Tatarstan business forum. "I hope that our business circles will agree on joint projects aimed at strengthening Russia-Vietnam relations. This form of work, when we can demonstrate our potential, is very effective, "he said.

Minnikhanov noted good dynamics in the relations between Tatarstan and Vietnam. "The products of Tatarstan enterprises such as KAMAZ Automaker, Kazan Helicopter Plant, Zelenodolsk Shipyard and others are well known in Vietnam," he continued.

According to Tatarstan President, there is great potential for the development of relations with Vietnamese companies in such areas as oil refining and petrochemical industry, digital technology, pharmaceuticals, medicine, agriculture and others. "I am sure that Tatarstan will contribute to strengthening cooperation between Russia and Vietnam,” Minnikhanov stated.

Deputy Director General of the Ho Chi Minh City Branch of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Vietnam reminded that the agreement on cooperation between the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Vietnam and the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Tatarstan was signed in 2014. "We want that Vietnamese companies develop their businesses in Tatarstan, and are interested in seeing your businessmen in our city. I hope that we will succeed in implementing a number of joint projects in the near future," he said.

Vietnamese Ambassador to Russia thanked Minnikhanov for paying a visit to Ho Chi Minh City and his interest in developing cooperation with Vietnam. He said that he will officially assume the duties of the ambassador of Vietnam to Russia in January next year. In his turn, Minnikhanov invited the newly appointed ambassador to visit Tatarstan next spring.
