On December 6, in Moscow, Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov took part in a regular Media Club meeting at Tatarstan Plenipotentiary Representative Office in the Russian Federation.

Established in December 2010 at Tatarstan Plenipotentiary Representative Office in Russia, the Media Club has brought together over 100 journalists, representatives of the leading Moscow and federal mass-media agencies, who either were born, studied or worked in Tatarstan.

The first meeting of the Media Club was held on December 22, 2010 in Moscow, the second one took place in Kazan on June 10, 2012 before the 2013 Summer Universiade, and the third meeting was held on November 9, 2015 in Moscow again.

The Media Club is designed to support public initiatives aimed at promoting the development of economy of Tatarstan and to help in the implementation of the regional projects.

Welcoming the participants of the meeting, Minnikhanov  thanked everyone for the interest to Tatarstan.

“Information policy is an important element of the work of any entity of the Federation,” Minnikhanov said, “We should go far beyond the borders of Tatarstan. This form of communication during regular Media Club meetings, which has been held the fourth time, is very important.”

According to Tatarstan President, the gross regional product (GRP) is expected to increase by three per cent by the end of the year, while production output will make about 2 trillion,150 billion roubles.  "We expect that will take the fifth or sixth place among other Russian  regions,"  Minnikhanov said.

“A lot of international and federal events have taken place and many projects  have been implemented in the republic recently. In particular, the Accessible Environment federal programme and the Public Space programme are implemented in the region. Many of our initiatives have been supported and are being replicated at the federal level. In general, we try to approach the problem systematically.

Thus, from 30 to 40 regional programmes such as the construction of housing, the capital repair of social facilities, including schools, roads are underway in the regions of the republic. In general, they all are designed to improve the quality of citizens’ life especially in such spheres as education, healthcare, high-tech medical care,”  Minnikhanov said.
