Tatarstan President: Machine-building enterprises of the republic have shipped products for the sum of 400 billion roubles for ten months of the current year

On December 7, at the Kazanskaya Yarmarka Exhibition Centre, speaking at the 7th meeting of the regional Coordination Council of Mechanical Engineering Enterprises, Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov said that machine-building enterprises of the republic have shipped products for the sum of 400 billion roubles for ten months of the current year.

Minister of Industry and Trade of the republic Albert Karimov, Aide to Tatarstan President Ravil Zaripov, Aide to Tatarstan President Albert Nafigin, heads of some ministries and industrial enterprises of the republic took part in the meeting held as part of the 17th International Specialized Exhibition “Machine Building. Metal Working. Kazan”.

"It has become a good tradition to hold a meeting that brings together representatives of the leading companies of the machine-building and metal-working complex of Tatarstan, Russia and our foreign partners," Minnikhanov said in his welcoming speech.

He noted that major work is underway in the republic to upgrade the machine-building complex, launch new enterprises and introduce modern technologies.

Minnikhanov stressed that the share of the machine-building complex in the total industrial output of the republic exceeds 20 per cent.

At the same time, Tatarstan needs modern machines and is interested in attracting foreign high-tech companies to locate their production facilities in the republic, he added. "The republic offers every condition for comfortable business. Active work is carried out to develop industrial sites, industrial parks, special economic zones,” Minnikhanov said.

According to Tatarstan President, it is impossible to be competitive without paying special attention to new technologies, innovations, production organization systems, with full-fledged digital production being the key back-up.  "Successful implementation of innovative projects and high technology development directly depends on the level of training. A great deal of systematic work is being done in this direction in the republic. There are  25 resource centres in the republic, which have been set up in close cooperation with our producers. This year we have plans to open six more resource centres," Minnikhanov said.

"I am sure that this meeting will give a new impetus to the development of mutually beneficial cooperation. Meanwhile, senior executives will become familiar with modern methods of managing industrial enterprises. This will be very useful in the current realities,” Minnikhanov concluded.

The meeting participants discussed topical issues of the machine-building industry, in particular, touched upon the digitalization of industry, new trends in the development of domestic and foreign machine-tool construction and other issues.
