6 March 2018, Tuesday

On March 6, at a briefing in the Government House of the republic it was informed about changes to the LUKOIL’s traditional annual competition of social and cultural projects, which was launched in Tatarstan for the ninth time.

As noted at the meeting, the event is aimed to increase the effectiveness of charitable activities, support the initiatives of public organizations and people to address pressing social issues. Organizations and public associations operating in republic are invited to participate.

Speaking at the meeting, Deputy Prime Minister of Tatarstan Leyla Fazleeva said that this year the competition has four categories such as Ecology, Spirituality and Culture, Sport and Youth Initiatives.

According to Fazleeva, the last category is a timely step. "Today's young people are bright, positive and proactive," she said and urged representatives of this age group to actively participate in the event and not miss an opportunity to receive a grant.

She noted that the number of people wishing to take part in the LUKOIL’s competition is growing every year. According to Fazleeva, when the competition just started there were about 60 winners, last year their number reached 200.

Deputy General Director of RITEK  Company Mikhail Lavrukhin said that about 700 applications were submitted to the organizers. Relevance and social significance are the main selection criteria to identify the best projects of 2018, he continued.

According to Lavrukhin, applications are submitted from March to July. In August they will be considered, and in September the organizers will announce the winners. A solemn ceremony to sum up the results will be timed to the Day of workers of the oil, gas and fuel industry.
