On August 29, Tatarstan Prime Minister Aleksey Pesoshin took part in a video-conference on readiness of the education system for the beginning of the new school year held by Prime Minister of Russia Dmitry Medvedev.

Medvedev congratulated all schoolchildren, students, their parents and teachers on the new school year. He reminded that this year more than 15 million children will be at school in our country.

"By and large, schools are ready for the new school year. They have been repaired and refurnished. I have had meetings with a number of governors recently and they have confirmed this. New furniture was bought, lighting in classrooms was improved, gyms were updated, catering facilities were brought into proper condition. There are necessary free textbooks everywhere except for two regions,” Medvedev said.
