30 October 2018, Tuesday

On October 30, Tatarstan Prime Minister Aleksey Pesoshin arrived on a working visit in Moscow to take part in a meeting of the Government Commission for Regional Development, which includes heads of federal executive bodies and heads of constituent entities of the Russian Federation.

The meeting held by Deputy Prime Minister Vitaly Mutko discussed the draft federal budget for 2019 and for the planning period of 2020 and 2021 in terms of inter-budget relations. Besides, it considered options for changing the mechanism for allocating subsidies to equalize the fiscal capacity of the regions for 2019, as well as the amount of corresponding financial support from the federal budget.

The meeting also focused on the implementation of national projects and a comprehensive plan for the modernization and expansion of road infrastructure in Russian regions.

Thus, the implementation of 12 national projects will become a strategic task for federal agencies and regional authorities for the next six years. These strategic areas of development of the state were outlined by Russian President Vladimir Putin in the Decree as of May 2018.

Making a report at the meeting, Minister of Finance of Russia Anton Siluanov said that the monitoring of the implementation of national projects is the main issue of the meeting. If earlier the federal government carried out random checks in the regions on specific points, now the process will become regular and more in-depth, Siluanov said.
