Rustam Minnikhanov: "Development of oil industry is impossible without innovative approaches"

On July 22 at a traditional oil summit in Bugulma region (the Republic of Tatarstan) Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov said that adoption of state-of-the-art technologies and innovative approaches are necessary conditions for Tatarstan oil industry.

Opening the event, Rustam Minnikhanov thanked OAO Tatneft, Kazan Federal University, RITEK company and Moscow guests for interesting and up-to-date expositions presented at at the exhibition.

Tatarstan President informed that 16,247 mln tonnes of oil were produced in the first half of 2013. He also noted slowdown in economic growth.

Director General of ZAO “Neftekonsortsium” Fanis Valeev told about activity of Tatarstan small oil companies in the first half of 2013. Thus, small oil companies put into operation 85 new wells. The amount of capital investments of small oil companies made 4,7 bln rubles.

Commenting on Fanis Valeev’s report, Rustam Minnikhanov recommended analyzing activity of small oil companies properly.

OAO Tatneft Deputy Director General and Chief engineer Nail Ibragimov reported on company’s work on adopting state-of-the-art technologies in oil production. Total amount of company’s investments increased by 1,6 times in comparison with last year’s figures. 127 new wells were put into operation.

Nail Ibragimov continued that Tatneft leadership sees big prospects in production of superviscous oil. Most state-of-the-art technologies are used in this area. The company continues signing contracts for supply and technical maintenance of oil production equipment. The contract has been signed with Turkmenistan, documents are being prepared with Kazakhstan companies.

3,5 mln tonnes of oil have been refined at TANECO oil refinery plant.

Tatarstan President summarized results of the session: “Today we have discussed innovative methods of oil industry development. We set the task to provide the resource base and oil production technologies for 20, 30 and 50 years. It was a very important event held at the highest level.”
