Nearly 11 thousand people from 80 countries have registered to take part in KazanForum

On 2 May, speaking at a briefing in the Government House of the republic, the Head of Tatarstan Investments Development Agency Taliya Minullina said: “We already have nearly 11 thousand participants registered from 80 countries. We understand that this is not the limit. The registration ends on 6 May and we expect as usual that there will the increased number of participants.”

She reminded that before the KazanForum was given the federal status the number of participants was up 7 thousand people.

Taiya Minullina informed that the Forum is expecting VIP guests including the Chairman of Kyrgyzstan Cabinet of Ministers Akylbek Japarov, the National Leader of Turkmen people Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedow , Deputy Chairman of Turkmenistan Cabinet – the Internal Minister of Turkmenistan Rashid Meredov, the Minister of Oil of Kuwait Imad Mohammad Alatiqi, Uzbekistan Minister of Poverty Alleviation and Employment Behzod Musaev, Afghanistan Minister of Commerce and Industry Nooruddin Azizi, a member of Qatar reigning family Mohammad Nassen Al Maliki and others.

She added that the most numerous delegations are expected from Egypt, Indonesia, Kazakhstan, Libya, Malaysia, Saudi Arabia, Senegal, Turkmenistan and Uzbekistan and from 80 Russian entities.

The programme of the International economic Forum “Russia-the Islamic World” has been published on the official Forum site, Taliya Minullina informed.

Tatarstan Minister of Economy Midkhat Shagiakhmetov informed journalists that the trade turnover between the republic and the OIC countries has grown substantially and in 2023 it reached nearly 5.7bn US dollars. 

He also told about two IT projects related to Islamic financing which will be presented at the forum, namely the e-trade platform for entrepreneurs based on the Islamic financing regulations and the database giving information about banking products provided by participants of the partnership based financial market.
