Rustam Minnikhanov: The Oil Institute can give Almetyevsk a competitive advantage

On November 3, speaking at a board meeting of Tatneft Oil Company held in Almetyevsk, Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov appreciated the development of Almetyevsk State Oil University, which celebrates its 60th anniversary these days.

Before the meeting Minnikhanov and his party had visited the Student House of Almetyevsk State Oil University, which was repaired using the funds of Tatneft Oil Company.

“Our dream to establish a higher oil school in Almetyevsk should come true. Our republic in general, Tatneft Oil Company, and small oil companies, we all should understand that without experts, without training of highly qualified personnel we will not be about to apply, implement, master advanced technologies, carry out cutting-edge research,” Minnikhanov said.

He noted that today Almetyevsk State Oil University has good research facilities, which should work to the benefit of oil industry. According to Minnikhanov, it is important to apply a dual education system and other best practices in education.

"The oil industry is the backbone of our economy, and the Oil Institute is the basis for our oil industry," Minnikhanov said. 

Minnikhanov also noted that much has been done for the city and Almetyevsk is changing for better. According to him, the Oil Institute can give the city a competitive advantage.
