On March 20, at the Government House of the republic, Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov held a regular meeting of the Board of Directors of the Tatneftekhiminvest-holding.
It was said at the meeting that energy projects using superconducting technologies can be implemented in Tatarstan.
Director of “Science and Innovations” and “Russian Superconductor” companies, which are part of Rosatom Atomic Energy Corporation, Viktor Pantsyrny made a report on prospects of the new direction. He said, in particular, that superconducting techniques can widely be used in such spheres as power industry, medicine, defense industry, metallurgy, etc. A superconducting cable can replace 20 high voltage cables, which is especially important for cities and factories.
Viktor Pantsyrny called the development of energy-efficient innovative superconducting technologies in the production and processing of oil and gas a promising area of cooperation between Rosatom and Tatarstan .
Minnikhanov gave an errand to set up a working group involving Tatneft Oil Company, TAIF Oil Refining Complex, and Tatenergo Energy Company to develop cooperation in this area.
