Rustam Minnikhanov delivers his welcoming speech at the business forum "Tatarstan - UAE: trade and investment cooperation" in Dubai

On April 2, Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov delivered his welcoming speech at the business-forum “Tatarstan-UAE: trade and investment cooperation” during the 7th Annual Investment Meeting 2017 in Dubai.

"On behalf of Tatarstan delegation, I welcome all the representatives of the business community of the United Arab Emirates who gathered in this hall and are interested in developing ties with the republic. I am grateful to the leadership of the Investment Forum in Dubai for the opportunity to organize this meeting. We are pleased to present the economic and investment potential of Tatarstan. Our republic is interested in attracting the Emirates business and capital. We will be glad to expand mutually beneficial relations and are ready to provide overall assistance. I hope that during our meeting the business community will open new areas for cooperation," Rustam Minnikhanov said in particular.

He stressed that Tatarstan is one of the leading and industrially developed regions of Russia.

"We are an oil producing and refining republic. We have developed petrochemical industry, we manufacture cars, airplanes, helicopters, ships, engineering products. Tatarstan exports more than 50 per cent of industrial goods and almost completely provides itself with agricultural products. Special attention is paid to innovative development. Today the republic is on top of the Russian national rating of the investment climate,” Tatarstan President said.

He also reminded that the republic is a pilot region for the implementation of the principles of partnership (Islamic) banking and financing in Russia. There are good opportunities for cooperation between the UAE and Tatarstan in this area, he said.

"We are open for interaction and will be happy to discuss joint projects. I invite you to cooperate with Tatarstan,” Minnikhanov addressed participants of the event.

Head of Tatarstan Investment Development Agency Taliya Minullina told about the economic and industrial potential of the republic.

Mayor of Naberezhnye Chelny Nail Magdeev made a presentation of the project "Territory of Advanced Social and Economic Development in Naberezhnye Chelny".

Director General of Zelenodolsk Shipyard Renat Mistakhov told about the possibilities and modern projects of the plant in the field of river and marine shipbuilding.

Director General of the Innopolis Special Economic Zone Igor Nosov presented the opportunities of Innopolis and promising trends in the IT industry, which are of interest to potential investors.
