Tatarstan President presents national prize named after Rustam Minnikhanov to mufti of the Republic of North Ossetia-Alania

On May 17, at the 3rd meeting of the Strategic Vision Group “Russia – the Islamic World” results of the competition for the national prize named after Rustam Minnikhanov were summed up. The award is given for the contribution to the strengthening of mutual understanding and cooperation between the Russian Federation and the countries of the Islamic world, mutual enrichment of cultural and national traditions, development of interfaith and civilizational dialogue.

The winners of the 2017 competition are Head of the Spiritual Board of Muslims of North Ossetia-Alania Khadzhimurat Gatsalov for a series of publications and for the authorship of the book "Russia and Islam: at the point of attack" and Alexey Kitaytsev for directing the documentary film "The Sword of the Kings. Farid Seifull-Mulyukov ".

Minnikhanov awarded Gatsalov with the winner's diploma and the prize. Alexey Kitaytsev was unable to attend the Group meeting and will receive his award later. The annual total prize fund of the award makes 500,000 roubles.
