The main stage of the regional championship “Young Professionals” (WorldSkills Russia 2017) starts in Kazan

On November 27, the main stage of the regional championship “Young Professionals” (WorldSkills Russia 2017) started in Kazan. The event has brought together over 800 participants aged 16-22, who will compete in 91 skills, 764 experts and 131 competitors aged 14-16, who will take part in the WorldSkills Junior Competition.

An opening ceremony of the Championship was held at the Kazan Technical College of Information Technology and Communications, which is one of six competition venues. About 100 participants from Tatarstan will compete in 12 IT competencies there.

After the opening ceremony Tatarstan Prime Minister Alexey Pesoshin, Minister of Education and Science of the republic Engel Fattakhov and other officials looked around the competition venues at the college and visited the Museum of Telecommunication History, where they were told about the main historical milestones of the industry.

Winners of the regional championship will have the opportunity to become members of Tatarstan team to take part in the final of the fourth National Championship (WorldSkills Russia) to be held in Yuzhno-Sakhalinsk on August 8-12, 2018.
