Tatarstan President: We would like to intensify our cooperation with Austrian companies

On May 16, in the Government House of the republic, Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov had a meeting with representatives of the Austrian-Russian Friendship Society.

Welcoming the guests, Minnikhanov reminded that the delegation from Tatarstan visited Austria in May last year. During the visit, a number of official meetings were organized, including the meeting with senior managers of the Austrian-Russian Friendship Society.

"During our visit we also walked around Vienna. It is a beautiful city. All conditions for a comfortable life of people have been created in it. There are landscaped embankments, public spaces, a museum quarter, and theatres there. Vienna certainly exemplifies how the urban economy should be organized,” Tatarstan President said.

Minnikhanov stressed that Tatarstan appreciates the current level of relations with Austrian partners and attaches great importance to expanding trade, economic and humanitarian cooperation.

Tatarstan President briefed about the industrial and investment potential of the republic, about the economic results of the region's activity in 2016.

"We would like to intensify our business contacts. We have quite a lot of experience working with foreign investors. I am sure that your visit will give another impetus to the development of our mutually beneficial cooperation. We are interested in attracting Austrian companies to Tatarstan and are ready to create all the necessary conditions for them," Minnikhanov said.

He said that today Tatarstan is actively interacting with Austrian business circles. In particular, Wienerberger, a producer of bricks, is working in the republic, joint projects are being implemented with Swarovski, Red Bull is a long-standing partner of the world-famous Russian and Tatarstan sports team KAMAZ-Master, and there are a number of Austrian banking organizations in Tatarstan.

In their turn representatives of the Austrian business community briefly presented their companies and voiced various options for developing cooperation with Tatarstan in the field of agribusiness, electronic payment systems, equestrian sports, tourism, etc.
