Ildar Khalikov opens Championship of Russia on judo in Kazan

Championship of Russia on judo has started in Kazan. RT Premier Ildar Khalikov took part in a festive ceremony that took place in Palace of single combats “Ak Bars”.
Championship of Russia on judo is a qualifying competition to form a membership of national team for European and World championships. 545 sportsmen from 60 Russian regions are taking part in current competitions. 23 wrestlers represent Tatarstan Republic. The championship will last from August, 31 to September, 4.
Ildar Khalikov thanked organizers for choosing Kazan to hold Championship of Russia – 2011. “It is extremely important on the threshold of Universiade-2013 so that our sportsmen, our young generation, future participants of student games can gain invaluable experience from the best sportsmen in the country”, - I.Khalikov said.
Head of Tatarstan Government stressed that whole Russia is presented at the current tournament. Sportsmen from every corner of the country arrived to take part in competitions.
Ildar Khalikov separately thanked sponsors of competitions. He wished sportsmen to put up a good performance at Championship of Russia and keep pleasant memories about Kazan.
President of Judo Federation of Russia Vasily Anisimov thanked Tatarstan leadership for well-organized competitions. “Championship of Russia is an important event for our country. Here we see participants of future Olympic Games”, - V.Anisimov stressed.
Head of Judo Federation of Russia announced competitions opened, anthems of Russia and Tatarstan sounded and first competitions of Championship of Russia started on tatami of Palace of single combats “Ak Bars”.
On 13 April in his congratulatory address on the occasion of the Maecenas and Benefactor Day, Tatarstan Prime Minister Aleksey Pesoshin congratulated residents of the republic with the event and wrote: "Tatarstan has always been known for its generous and kind-hearted people who are ready to help the needy and support important social, cultural and educational projects. We all remember with gratitude the outstanding philanthropists – the Akchurin brothers, the Alafuzovs, and the Ushkovs, whose good deeds and generous donations contributed to the development of culture, education, and healthcare in our republic. The glorious traditions are continued by modern philanthropists and patrons of Tatarstan.
On 12 April in his address to residents of the republic, Tatarstan Prime Minister Aleksey Pesoshin congratulated them with the Space Exploration Day and said: “April 12, 1961 has forever been inscribed into the world history as the day of triumph of the Soviet science and engineering thought. The flight of Yuriy Gagarin opened the way to the stars for the humankind and demonstrated to the whole world the might of our country.
On 4 April , speaking at a closing ceremony of the XX Russian Venture Forum held at the Kazan Expo Exhibition Center, Tatarstan Prime Minister Aleksey Pesoshin said that the Russian Venture Forum has confirmed its status of the point of attraction of technological development leaders.
The Forum created a unified scientific, technological and investment space where scientific ideas are transformed into competitive products, and startups gain access to capital and markets. Its business programme is organically integrated into the regional and federal agenda for achieving technological sovereignty and leadership of Russia, he said.
On 1 April Tatarstan Prime Minister Aleksey Pesoshin and Russian Minister of Healthcare Mikhail Murashko introduced Ayrat Farrakhov, who was appointed the Acting Rector of Kazan State Medical University (KSMU) to its staff.
In his speech Mikhail Murashko emphasized that today KSMU is rightfully considered one of the most respected in the country and said:”Ayrat (Zakievich) has been officially appointed the Acting Rector and I am sure that under his leadership the University will maintain the positions it has achieved and, of course, will continue its development.”
