Rustam Minnikhanov inspected exposition of III international exhibition “Modern sport: “Innovations and prospects – 2011”

September, 9. President of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov visits Saransk (the Republic of Mordovia) to take part in the international sports forum “Russia - sports country”. The forum is being held on September 8-11. Official opening and plenary session will be held today in the second part of day at the main arena of Saransk Ice palace.
Head of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov has inspected exposition of III international exhibition “Modern sport: “Innovations and prospects – 2011” within the frameworks of the forum.
The Republic of Tatarstan also takes part in the event – sports industry of republic and development of basic kinds of sport is presented on Tatarstan stand. Rustam Minnikhanov also inspected stands of other exhibitors which introduce innovations of sport industry being implemented in Russian regions. In particular, he tested properties of synthetic ice “Art-ice” being used nowadays in Stavropol region, the Republic of Adygei, Ryazan area and other regions.
The Agreement “On granting federal subsidy to Tatarstan Republic for co-financing targeted financial support of sport organizations engaged in preparation of sport reserve for national teams of Russian Federation by basic and Paralympic kinds of sport” has been signed today in Saransk by RT President Rustam Minnikhanov and Minister of sport, tourism and youth policy Vitaly Mutko.

Dozens of events dedicated to issues of development and improvement of Russian sport are being organized within the limits of international sport forum “Russia - sports country” (September 8-11) – two All-Russia scientific-practical conferences, All-Russia seminar-meeting “realization of strategy for development of physical culture and sport in Russian Federation”, All-Russia congress of teachers of physical culture, eight “round tables” dedicated to preparation of sportsmen of higher qualifications, providing sports infrastructure, promotion of mass physical culture, and two sessions within the limits of conference “Sport and environment - new territory of development”.
The Republic of Tatarstan is presented by RT Minister of youth affairs, sport and tourism Rafis Burganov, RT Minister of health care Airat Farrakhov, First deputy director general of ANO “Executive office “Kazan 2013” Azat Kadyrov and others.

Within the limits of forum “Russia - sports country” members of Tatarstan delegation will report at round tables “Prospects of developing sports medicine in Russian Federation” and “Realization of international educational projects as a strategic partnership in development of international sport movement”(September, 8, 2011).
On 9 May Tatarstan Prime Minister Aleksey Pesoshin took part in a ceremony of laying flowers to the monument “The victorious soldier” dedicated to the celebrations of the Day of Victory in the Great Patriotic War (WW II) 1941-1945 and held at Arsk cemetery in Kazan.
On 8 May, speaking at a meeting held by the Rais (Head) of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov in the Government House of the republic with participation of the Acting Chairman of the State Council of the republic Marat Akhmetov and the regional Prime Minister Aleksey Pesoshin, the Minister of Construction, Architecture and Housing Utilities Sector of the republic Marat Ayzatullin reported that capital overhaul of social facilities is in full swing in the republic with 170 educational facilities having been included into regional and federal programmes.
On 4 May at a briefing held in the Tatarstan Government House it was told that currently there are 92 combat veterans, the last witnesses of the Great Patriotic War (WW II) of 1941-1945, living in the republic. The briefing also informed about veterans’ support measures and how the republic is planning to celebrate the Victory Day on 9 May.
The Deputy Prime Minister of the republic Leyla Fazleeva told that names of 353 Heroes of the Soviet Union from Tatarstan “ are immortalized in street names, on memorials, in monuments and squares and, of course, in our memory”. “The Victory Day is the day of memory, mourning and joy. It is the event which today should be clearly understandable to all young people and younger generation of Tatarstan,” she said.
