President of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov holds meeting on issues of developing special economic zone “Alabuga”

September, 14. President of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov held a working meeting in special economic zone “Alabuga” (Elabuga municipal region). RF Deputy Minister of economic development Oleg Saveliev and Director of Department for special economic zones of Russia Dmitry Levchenkov attended the event.
Opening the event RT President reminded that during the recent visit to Turkish Republic he attended enterprises of two Turkish companies - residents of SEZ “Alabuga” (“Ford” and “Hayat Kimya”). Besides, Rustam Minnikhanov noted that currently confidential relationships are being established between Tatarstan and Turkish company Kastamonu Integre, the resident of SEZ “Alabuga” which has already started constructing its factory.
Rustam Minnikhanov told he is ready to support realization of projects of Turkish investors on the territory of special economic zone “Alabuga” in every possible way.
Deputy Chairman of Directors board - Director general of Sisecam group of companies Akhmet Kyrman confirmed serious intentions of the company to invest in development of production in Russia. Now Sisecam company has seven factories in Russia with more than 4000 employees. Two joint projects of Sisecam (Turkey) and Saint Gobain (France) are meant to be developed simultaneously. Mr Akhmet Kyrman informed currently the contract organization is being chosen and equipment is being purchased. Construction works are to be started this year in October. Construction of plant for producing automobile glass (ZAO “Automative Glass Alliance Rus”) is planned to be finished by 2012, plant for producing sheet glass (ZAO “Trakya Glass Rus”) – by 2013.
Rustam Minnikhanov informed that RT Ministry of labor, employment and social protection and leadership of Elabuga municipal region are working out the issue of preparing staff for Turkish enterprises. Moreover, a residential micro-district for employees of SEZ “Alabuga” is expected to be constructed.
RF Deputy Minister of economic development Oleg Saveliev also confirmed readiness to support resident companies of special economic zone “Alabuga” on federal level including issues on improving normative-legal base. For now all restrictions for receiving quotas for higher managing staff have been removed, list of documents needed for work permit and terms for considering these documents have been reduced.
On 26 March Tatarstan Prime Minister Aleksey Pesoshin took part in a meeting of the Council by the Russian Presidential Envoy in the Volga Federal District dedicated to rural demographic policy held by the Russian Presidential Envoy in the District Igor Komarov in Nizhniy Novgorod with participation of heads of federal ministries concerned, representatives of the Federal Assembly and heads of federal entities of the Volga Federal District. The participants of the meeting discussed such topics as the demographic situation, implementation of federal programmes and the best regional practices, and the results of the meeting will be used for preparing comprehensive solutions of such tasks set by Russian President Vladimir Putin as preservation of the population, strengthening health, raising prosperity of people and supporting families.
On 24 March, speaking at a briefing on achievements of preventive medicine last year and plans for 2026 held in the Government House of the republic, representatives of Tatarstan Healthcare Ministry said that medical check-ups are proving their effectiveness in preserving the health and lives of residents of the republic.
Thus the regional Healthcare Minister Almir Abashev informed: “Over the past five years, a clear course has been set to ensure that preventative medicine in the country gains momentum. Starting from 2022 the number of people who should have their medical check-ups in this or that year is growing. We are facing a task of covering more than 70 per cent of elderly people with check-ups by 2030.”
On March 10, the third meeting of the organizing committee on preparation and holding of the 20th anniversary Russian Venture Forum 2026 to be held in Kazan from April 8 to 10, chaired by Russian Minister of Science and Higher Education Valery Falkov and with participation of Tatarstan Prime Minister of the Republic of Tatarstan and co-chair of the forum’s organizing committee Aleksey Pesoshin, President of the Academy of Sciences of Tatarstan Rifkat Minnikhanov, Director of the Investment and Venture Fund of Tatarstan Damir Galiev as well as representatives of federal and regional authorities, development institutions and partner organizations via videoconference, took place.
On 10 March, speaking at a briefing dedicated to the development of the national Max messenger in Tatarstan and held in the Government House of the republic with all municipalities taking part in it via videoconference, the Minister of Digitalization of Public Administration, Information Technologies and Communication of the republic Ilya Nachvin informed that according to the data of March 2026 about 1.5m residents of Tatarstan use domestic Max messenger.
