Rustam Minnikhanov takes part in the eighth meeting of the High-Level Russia-Singapore Inter-Governmental Commission

On October 17, during his working visit to Moscow, Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov took part in the eighth meeting of the High-Level Russia-Singapore Inter-Governmental Commission, which was held at the Skolkovo Innovation Centre.

First Deputy Prime Minister of Russia Igor Shuvalov and Deputy Prime Minister and Coordinating Minister for Economic and Social Policies of Singapore Tharman Shanmugaratnam are co-chairmen of the commission. During the meeting, members of the inter-governmental commission discussed the main areas of cooperation between Russia and Singapore, as well as interaction at the inter-regional level.

In particular, close cooperation between Singapore and Tatarstan as one of the developed regions of Russia was discussed. Speaking at the meeting, Shuvalov noted proactiveness of the region's leadership and personally its President Minnikhanov in building effective bilateral forms of interaction. For example, cooperation is carried out through attraction of investments, use of Singapore's experience in education, training of government workers, etc. "Tatarstan is the leader in building relations with Singapore," Shuvalov emphasized.

In his turn, Minnikhanov also said that the interaction between Tatarstan and Singapore has recently received a new impetus for development. He, in particular, said that he visited Singapore two weeks ago. "The trip was very useful, we gained a new experience," he said.
