Rustam Minnikhanov: visit of Bashkortostan delegation to Tatarstan is a symbolic event

“Visit of Bashkortostan delegation to Tatarstan is a symbolic event”, - President of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov stated at a meeting with Bashkortostan President Rustem Khamitov which took place in RT President Residence, the Kazan Kremlin.
We remind that Bashkortostan delegation is staying in Tatarstan on September, 22. The major industrial objects (JSC “TANECO”, JSC “KAMAZ”, KIP “Master”) and sport infrastructure prepared for Universide 2013 have been demonstrated to the guests.
Greeting members of delegation at the Kazan Kremlin Rustam Minnikhanov thanked guests for the visit and reminded that Tatarstan officials had visited Ufa 9 months ago. The agreement on trade – economic, scientific-technical, social and cultural cooperation was signed between Tatarstan and Bashkortostan at that time. By words of Rustam Minnikhanov it should be the basic document in prospect.
“Out people are historically very close, we have much in common, we are close by language, traditions and culture. Economies of the two regions are also very similar - Tatarstan and Bashkortostan are today two large petrochemical centres in Russia”, - RT President said.
According to Rustam Minnikhanov, cooperation is also important for development of engineering sector. JSC “KAMAZ” produces vehicles jointly with Bashkortostan enterprises.
“We have already discussed that interregional commodity turnover should increase up to 30 bln. roubles. I think it is a very realistic plan”, - RT President said.
Head of Tatarstan also noted that there are many useful contacts between two regions in educational and cultural spheres. Besides he believes that mutually beneficial cooperation should be established in IT sector. In particular, in the sphere of adopting universal electronic cards Tatarstan and Bashkortostan should become the basic regions in promoting such technologies.
“Today Tatarstan and Bashkortostan are not only neighboring regions but “those who play in one team and do one common work”, - Rustem Khamitov stated. By his words, regions may be the example of friendship and mutually beneficial cooperation.
Rustem Khamitov shared impressions of what he had seen in Tatarstan. By his words, projects being realized in the region are considerable and major. “We will take into consideration Tatarstan experience upon constructing large industrial enterprises and holding international events”, - he said.
Rustem Khamitov suggested defining plan of further actions to be realized after the current visit. By his words, work should be organized at all levels, in all ministries and departments.
Moreover, Head of Tatarstan proposed to advance regions’ interests in federal structures, in Russian parliament.
Upon finishing the meeting Rustam Minnikhanov and Rustem Khamitov answered journalists’ questions.
On 26 March Tatarstan Prime Minister Aleksey Pesoshin took part in a meeting of the Council by the Russian Presidential Envoy in the Volga Federal District dedicated to rural demographic policy held by the Russian Presidential Envoy in the District Igor Komarov in Nizhniy Novgorod with participation of heads of federal ministries concerned, representatives of the Federal Assembly and heads of federal entities of the Volga Federal District. The participants of the meeting discussed such topics as the demographic situation, implementation of federal programmes and the best regional practices, and the results of the meeting will be used for preparing comprehensive solutions of such tasks set by Russian President Vladimir Putin as preservation of the population, strengthening health, raising prosperity of people and supporting families.
On 24 March, speaking at a briefing on achievements of preventive medicine last year and plans for 2026 held in the Government House of the republic, representatives of Tatarstan Healthcare Ministry said that medical check-ups are proving their effectiveness in preserving the health and lives of residents of the republic.
Thus the regional Healthcare Minister Almir Abashev informed: “Over the past five years, a clear course has been set to ensure that preventative medicine in the country gains momentum. Starting from 2022 the number of people who should have their medical check-ups in this or that year is growing. We are facing a task of covering more than 70 per cent of elderly people with check-ups by 2030.”
On March 10, the third meeting of the organizing committee on preparation and holding of the 20th anniversary Russian Venture Forum 2026 to be held in Kazan from April 8 to 10, chaired by Russian Minister of Science and Higher Education Valery Falkov and with participation of Tatarstan Prime Minister of the Republic of Tatarstan and co-chair of the forum’s organizing committee Aleksey Pesoshin, President of the Academy of Sciences of Tatarstan Rifkat Minnikhanov, Director of the Investment and Venture Fund of Tatarstan Damir Galiev as well as representatives of federal and regional authorities, development institutions and partner organizations via videoconference, took place.
On 10 March, speaking at a briefing dedicated to the development of the national Max messenger in Tatarstan and held in the Government House of the republic with all municipalities taking part in it via videoconference, the Minister of Digitalization of Public Administration, Information Technologies and Communication of the republic Ilya Nachvin informed that according to the data of March 2026 about 1.5m residents of Tatarstan use domestic Max messenger.
