Participants from Tatarstan come second in internal team rating at WorldSkills in Abu Dhabi

On October 24, at a briefing at the Tatarstan Cabinet of Ministers, Aide to Tatarstan President Leila Fazleeva informed that among Russian regions and cities participants from Moscow showed the best results at WorldSkills Competition-2017 in Abu Dhabi. Competitors from Tatarstan won 5625 scores and came second in the internal team rating. Participants from Chelyabinsk came third.

The speaker reminded that 1.3 competitors and 1084 experts from 59 countries took part in the 44th WorldSkills Competition-2017 in Abu Dhabi on October 14-19. There were 51 competencies, 49 main and two presentation competencies. The main competitions were held at ADNEC.  

The Russian national team comprised 58 competitors and 52 experts from 22 regions. Eight people from Tatarstan competed in seven competencies.

“Participants from Tatarstan won one gold medal, one silver medal, and one Medallion for Excellence.  The graduate of Kazan polytechnic college, student of Kazan chemical technological institute Vadim Polyakov won gold medal in the competence “Refrigeration technology and conditioning”. He is a prominent representative of our republic and his profession. He knows how to achieve results.  Students of Kazan technical school of information technologies and communications Pavel Fadeev and Andrey Dyubanov won silver medals.  The student of Kazan national research technological university Albert Mineev won the Medallion for Excellence in the competence “Engineering design – CAD”, - Leila Fazleeva said.

By the total scores Russia came first (35,461), Brazil came second (34,901), and China came third (34,103). On the medal points Russia came fifth, China- first, Korea - second, Switzerland - third, and Brazil came fourth.
