24 October 2017, Tuesday

On October 24, during his working visit to San Francisco (the USA, California), Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov held meetings with some international companies on the sidelines of Global Technology Symposium.

At his meeting with Global Chief Innovation Officer Jeff Wong, Minnikhanov was presented the concept of a digital transformation programme of Tatarstan.

Digital transformation is a continuous process of changes in response to external and internal challenges, when success is achieved only by involving all participants in the process (public, government authorities, large and small businesses, investors, scientists, etc.).

The meeting also discussed the use of cloud technologies, software solutions to manage the efficiency of production assets in all branches of industry, etc.

Minnikhanov invited representatives of the company to come to Kazan and hold an orientation seminar for regional specialists. It is expected that the seminar will be organized in December this year.

Later on the same day, he had a meeting with CEO of Alfa8 Iliad Terra.

Specialists of Alfa8 briefly described the activities of their enterprises, which include such areas as the construction of smart cities, the use of smart technologies in the agro-industrial sector, etc.

Another meeting was devoted to the project of creating high-speed, environmentally friendly, affordable and safe transport based on vacuum technologies. The project was presented by founders of the EdgeWater Investments and top managers of Hyperloop Transportation Technologies.

Specialists of Hyperloop Transportation Technologies told Minnikhanov about the project of a high-speed transportation system, when a train reaches a speed of up to 400 km per hour in a special tube where a high vacuum is created.

Minnikhanov was interested in the issues of ensuring the security of this type of transport, the project payback period, and asked other clarifying questions.

As noted at the meeting, Hyperloop does not have any projects implemented in Russia.

Minnikhanov gave an errand to the Ministry of Transport and Roads of the republic to carefully study the innovative project.

Your project is very interesting, Minnikhanov said, addressing representatives of the company, many regions need a high-speed transport link between some territories. According to him, this technology is comparable to the construction of a subway, but it can be much cheaper.

Minnikhanov called the technology of Hyperloop Transportation Technologies a serious breakthrough in the transport industry and wished the developers success.
