On October 24, during his working visit to San Francisco, Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov had a meetng with President and CEO of General Electric John Flannery.
Welcoming participants of the meeting, Flannery noted that Tatarstan and GE have had long-standing business relations. We are working with many Russian regions, but Tatarstan is of particular importance to us, he said.
He told the meeting in detail about projects implemented by the company in the sphere of digitization, which contribute to increasing significantly business effectiveness and reducing expenses.
In his turn Minnikhanov reminded that together with GE the project on modernization of the combined heat and power supply plant-3 was successfully implemented in Tatarstan and Kazan in particular.
"Digital technologies are an important area in many sectors, including power engineering, petrochemical industry and others," Minnikhanov said. "Our joint work has great prospects."
The parties discussed the use and introduction of digital technologies at large industrial enterprises.
Minnikhanov noted the high level of training of specialists in the corporate university of GE.
Later on the same day, Minnikhanov had a meeting President and CEO of the Digital Solutions division at BHGE (GE) Matthias Heilman.
Heilman said that he is responsible for the digitalization in the oil and gas sector. Such large oil companies as Shell, British Petroleum, Rosneft, Total and others are GE partners.
A presentation of the introduction of GE digital technologies at large companies was organized for participants of the meeting. A draft strategy of digital transformation of Tatarstan was also discussed.
