Rustam Minnikhanov: Tatarstan Republic is competitive due to its education

Efforts of Tatarstan authorities aimed at development of educational sector are bringing results, President of Tatarstan stated at official event dedicated to World teacher’s day.
The event took place in Kazan with participation of RT State Council Chairman Farid Mukhametshin, Mayor of Kazan Ilsur Metshin, Minister of education and science Albert Gilmutdinov. The best teachers of republic were invited to take part in celebrations.
Greeting teachers Rustam Minnikhanov stated that notwithstanding possible difficulties republican authorities will continue developing educational system.
RT President reminded that this year 11,5 thousand of new places are being created in kindergartens and “electronic school” program is being implemented. “We also have new priority task – to deal with existing schools. We are going to start realizing a three-year program next year”, - Rustam Minnikhanov informed.
“I suppose results are evident. Tatarstan Republic is competitive due to its education. I would like to express gratitude to teachers. I wish you success, in our turn we will do our best to support you”, - RT President said.

RT State Council Chairman Farid Mukhametshin, Minister of education and science Albert Gilmutdinov and famous TV presenter, member of RF Public chamber Tina Kandelaki celebrated teachers on their professional holiday.
On 26 March Tatarstan Prime Minister Aleksey Pesoshin took part in a meeting of the Council by the Russian Presidential Envoy in the Volga Federal District dedicated to rural demographic policy held by the Russian Presidential Envoy in the District Igor Komarov in Nizhniy Novgorod with participation of heads of federal ministries concerned, representatives of the Federal Assembly and heads of federal entities of the Volga Federal District. The participants of the meeting discussed such topics as the demographic situation, implementation of federal programmes and the best regional practices, and the results of the meeting will be used for preparing comprehensive solutions of such tasks set by Russian President Vladimir Putin as preservation of the population, strengthening health, raising prosperity of people and supporting families.
On 24 March, speaking at a briefing on achievements of preventive medicine last year and plans for 2026 held in the Government House of the republic, representatives of Tatarstan Healthcare Ministry said that medical check-ups are proving their effectiveness in preserving the health and lives of residents of the republic.
Thus the regional Healthcare Minister Almir Abashev informed: “Over the past five years, a clear course has been set to ensure that preventative medicine in the country gains momentum. Starting from 2022 the number of people who should have their medical check-ups in this or that year is growing. We are facing a task of covering more than 70 per cent of elderly people with check-ups by 2030.”
On March 10, the third meeting of the organizing committee on preparation and holding of the 20th anniversary Russian Venture Forum 2026 to be held in Kazan from April 8 to 10, chaired by Russian Minister of Science and Higher Education Valery Falkov and with participation of Tatarstan Prime Minister of the Republic of Tatarstan and co-chair of the forum’s organizing committee Aleksey Pesoshin, President of the Academy of Sciences of Tatarstan Rifkat Minnikhanov, Director of the Investment and Venture Fund of Tatarstan Damir Galiev as well as representatives of federal and regional authorities, development institutions and partner organizations via videoconference, took place.
On 10 March, speaking at a briefing dedicated to the development of the national Max messenger in Tatarstan and held in the Government House of the republic with all municipalities taking part in it via videoconference, the Minister of Digitalization of Public Administration, Information Technologies and Communication of the republic Ilya Nachvin informed that according to the data of March 2026 about 1.5m residents of Tatarstan use domestic Max messenger.
