Session of regional organizing committee “Russia-2018” held in Kazan

Ensuring safety in the context of holding matches of World football championship – 2018 in Kazan will be a priority issue, President of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov stated at a session of regional organizing committee “Russia-2018” for preparation and holding matches of World football championship.
We remind that officials of bidding committee “Russia-2018” headed by Director-general of ANO “Organizing committee “Russia-2018” Aleksei Sorokin have arrived in Tatarstan capital. They visited several sport objects and sites that will be used in the context of World football championship – 2018.
Speaking at the session Rustam Minnikhanov stated that all FIFA requirements imposed on cities that host matches of World football championship will be fulfilled. Much emphasis is now being put on construction of football stadium with a capacity of 45 000 spectators, transport infrastructure, ensuring safety of sportsmen, guests and audience. According to Rustam Minnikhanov renewal of transport infrastructure is expected by summer Universiade 2013.
Aleksei Sorokin told about FIFA requirements in terms of preparation for World football championship – 2018. He is sure that Kazan will be ready to host the matches. “By 2018 Tatarstan will have gained major experience in the sphere of preparation and holding big international events”, - he said.
Director-general of ANO “Executive office of XXVII World summer universiade 2013 in Kazan” Vladimir Leonov reported on state of sport and transport infrastructure, preparation and holding matches of World football championship – 2018 in accordance with FIFA requirements.
Attendees of the session noted that by 2018 comfortable conditions should be created for hosting foreign sportsmen and guests, - hotels, signs in foreign language, volunteers with knowledge of foreign languages, etc.
On 26 March Tatarstan Prime Minister Aleksey Pesoshin took part in a meeting of the Council by the Russian Presidential Envoy in the Volga Federal District dedicated to rural demographic policy held by the Russian Presidential Envoy in the District Igor Komarov in Nizhniy Novgorod with participation of heads of federal ministries concerned, representatives of the Federal Assembly and heads of federal entities of the Volga Federal District. The participants of the meeting discussed such topics as the demographic situation, implementation of federal programmes and the best regional practices, and the results of the meeting will be used for preparing comprehensive solutions of such tasks set by Russian President Vladimir Putin as preservation of the population, strengthening health, raising prosperity of people and supporting families.
On 24 March, speaking at a briefing on achievements of preventive medicine last year and plans for 2026 held in the Government House of the republic, representatives of Tatarstan Healthcare Ministry said that medical check-ups are proving their effectiveness in preserving the health and lives of residents of the republic.
Thus the regional Healthcare Minister Almir Abashev informed: “Over the past five years, a clear course has been set to ensure that preventative medicine in the country gains momentum. Starting from 2022 the number of people who should have their medical check-ups in this or that year is growing. We are facing a task of covering more than 70 per cent of elderly people with check-ups by 2030.”
On March 10, the third meeting of the organizing committee on preparation and holding of the 20th anniversary Russian Venture Forum 2026 to be held in Kazan from April 8 to 10, chaired by Russian Minister of Science and Higher Education Valery Falkov and with participation of Tatarstan Prime Minister of the Republic of Tatarstan and co-chair of the forum’s organizing committee Aleksey Pesoshin, President of the Academy of Sciences of Tatarstan Rifkat Minnikhanov, Director of the Investment and Venture Fund of Tatarstan Damir Galiev as well as representatives of federal and regional authorities, development institutions and partner organizations via videoconference, took place.
On 10 March, speaking at a briefing dedicated to the development of the national Max messenger in Tatarstan and held in the Government House of the republic with all municipalities taking part in it via videoconference, the Minister of Digitalization of Public Administration, Information Technologies and Communication of the republic Ilya Nachvin informed that according to the data of March 2026 about 1.5m residents of Tatarstan use domestic Max messenger.
