Tatarstan President to take part in the World Islamic Economic Forum in Malaysia

On November 20, Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov, who arrived on a working visit in Malaysia, was met by Assistant Minister of Transportation of the State of Sarawak of Malaysia Jerip Susil and Consul General of the Russian Federation in Malaysia Valeriy Ermolaev at the Kuching Airport. 

On November 21-23, 2017, the city of Kuching will host the 13th World Islamic Economic Forum, which is organized by the Government of Malaysia under the auspices of the leadership of the State of Sarawak. The topic of the forum "Disruptive Change: Impact and Challenges" covers issues related to the current geopolitical and economic instability arising from populism, economic nationalism, protectionist tendencies and their impact on the world economy.

Tomorrow, Minnikhanov will take part in the 13th World Islamic Economic Forum (WIEF) and speak as an honoured guest at a plenary session. 

It is expected that more than 1500 people, including global leaders, will take part in the Forum.

During his working visit, Tatarstan President will also have negotiations and meetings with Prime Minister of Malaysia Najib Razak, Governor of Sarawak Abdul Taib bin Mahmud, Chief Minister of Sarawak Abdul Rahman Zohari bin Tun Abang Haji Openg, Chairman of the WIEF Foundation Musa Hitam and other guests of the forum.
