On November 30, Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikkhanov paid a working visit to Agryz municipal region of the republic to take part in the opening of a new sports complex with a swimming pool.
The construction of the new facility in the town of Agryz started under the regional programme in April last year. There are two swimming pools for adults and children, a universal gym for playing mini-football, basketball and volleyball in the sports complex. It also features special facilities for aerobics, choreography, martial arts and strength sport.
Minnikhanov congratulated the local citizens on the opening of the modern sports complex, noting that all the necessary conditions for physical training have been created there.
Tatarstan President said that all 39 state programmes being implemented in the republic will be continued next year.
Head of Agryz region Valery Makarov thanked the leadership of the republic for the construction of the new sports facility. "Today we are opening a multifunctional complex, which is much needed for our residents. I am sure that it will not stay empty. Our young people and adults will do sport there," he concluded.
While looking around the new sports complex, Minnikhanov was told that employing 48 people it can accommodate up to 740 visitors daily. It was also noted that there are plans to organize classes for children with disabilities in the Mother and Child format.
