Rustam Minnikhanov takes part in Tatarstan’s Business Partners Forum

On November 30, Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov took part in a plenary meeting of the 12th Tatarstan’s Business Partners Forum held in the Alabuga Special Economic Zone. As many as 200 large Tatar businessmen from 27 Russian regions and 10 countries of the near abroad participated in the forum. 

Speaking at the meeting, Minnikhanov suggested that the forum participants should develop their businesses through e- commerce and hold a special seminar on this topic in Tatarstan for Tatar entrepreneurs from Russian regions and foreign countries.

Tatarstan President called the halal industry another important area for development. He noted that this sphere will be discussed separately at the Kazansummit Forum next year.

The development of the halal industry meets Russia's foreign policy goals to become closer with the countries of the Islamic world, Minnikhanov continued. He reminded that on the instructions of Russian President Vladimir Putin he holds the post of chairman of the Russia-Islamic World Strategic Vision Group. "Close contacts with the Islamic world are very important for Russia and are greatly supported. We have to use our and your potential to achieve this goal," he stressed.

Minnikhanov also told the forum participants about business development opportunities available in the Alabuga and Innopolis Special Economic Zones and Naberezhnye Chelny territory of advanced economic development. He invited Tatar entrepreneurs and their partners to work in Tatarstan. "We need to consolidate the power and potential of entrepreneurship. The Tatar people have always tried to learn and create something new, to make changes. We must meet today’s challenges," he said.

Minnikhanov focused on the issue of preserving the Tatar language. He noted that in conditions of large-scale globalization there is a risk of the disappearance of many languages. "This is a very serious problem. Only 30 per cent of Tatars live in Tatarstan, the rest of them live outside the republic. Without the involvement of such people like you, the language, traditions and religion will be lost,” Tatarstan President addressed the forum participants.

At the end of the meeting, Minnikhanov handed in a number of state awards of the republic of Tatarstan.
