On December 12, at the Kazan Kremlin, Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov had a meeting with Chief Editor of the Uchitelskaya Gazeta (the Teachers’ Newspaper) Peter Polozhevets.
Speaking at the meeting, Polozhevets told Minnikhanov about the results of the regular international comparative study of the quality of civic education. Throughout the year, international experts assessed the specifics of the teaching in schools, the management of an educational organization, the creation of an in-school climate and other factors that influence the formation of the civic stand of schoolchildren.
According to him, Russia has made a tremendous breakthrough from 19th to the 7th line in the rating in one year.
Then, the meeting discussed the prospects for the development of the education system in terms of establishing citizenship and increasing the social activity of students.
