On December 12, at the Palazzo Lombardia government building, during his working visit to Milan, Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov was presented two new investment projects.
Bio Plastica project focused on production of readily biodegradable bioplastics (PHA) and construction of a plant on the production of biopolymers, where agricultural by-products (sugar beet and cane, potato wastes, wheat powder and cornflour, oil, fruits) are used as raw materials was presented first.
The project aims to launch the Russia’s first plant for the production of PHA biopolymers made from biological resources and that are fully biodegradable.
It is expected that the plant will be built in 24 months in Tatarstan.
In his turn, Minnikhanov noted that this is a promising project, because it is based on renewable vegetable raw material.
“Tatarstan is the most suitable region for implementation of this project because it has developed agricultural production,” – Minnikhanov said. According to him, the project is attractive due to its ecological friendliness.
The Little Italy project aimed at the construction of housing and commercial buildings near Regional Clinical Hospital in Kazan was presented next.
The multi-functional complex will house such facilities as a hotel, offices, a shopping centre, houses, warehouses, a school and a sports centre.
Studio Costa Progettazioni, an Italian architectural studio founded in Rome, is a project developer.
During the presentation Minnikhanov noted that the project is of interest.
“I think this is a promising district as the surrounding area is actively developed. Road infrastructure, access ways will be the key factors of project success,” he said. Tatarstan President noted that multi-functional complexes such as the Little Italy contribute to developing districts located near the entrance to the city.
