Cultural events for students to be held during winter holidays discussed at Tatarstan Government House

On December 19, at the Cabinet of Ministers of the republic, speaking at a regional video-conference broadcast online with participation of all regions of the republic, Tatarstan Deputy Minister of Education and Science Larisa Sulima said that the winter school holiday will start next Monday (December, 25).

“Tatarstan Ministry of Education and Science recommended that all educational organizations should have winter school holidays for 14 days from December, 25 to January, 7,” Sulima said.

As many as 290 winter camps for 10,478 children will be organized during the holidays in 31 regions of the republic. Cultural events will be held in all cities and regions of the republic during this period, the Deputy Minister noted.

The regional Presidential New Year Party will be held at the Tatneft Arena Sports Ice Palace on the 25th of December, Aide to Tatarstan President Leila Fazleeva said at the meeting.

Over 7,000 children from all over the republic, including excellent pupils, public life leaders, winners of sports competitions and orphans will take part in it.

Tatarstan Minister of Culture Airat Sibgatullin reported at the briefing that over 500 cultural events for children such as performances, concerts, exhibitions, entertainments, educational programmes will be held during winter holidays.

Sulima also reported that children from Tatarstan will have New Year’s presents for a total amount of nine million roubles.

On request of the regional State Inspectorate for Road Traffic Safety Administration this year’s presents will include a light-reflective element. “According to the decree signed by Tatarstan Cabinet of Ministers, the New Year's presents will be given to orphans, children left without parental care, children living in difficult situation and who are in state care at specialized institutions for juveniles, children with  disabilities, children of special-purpose educational institutions for minors. In total there are 14,145 children in this category. A New Year’s gift will cost 644 roubles,” Sulima said. 

Other children from Tatarstan will receive New Year gifts at the discretion of the municipalities, enterprises and organizations of the republic, she added.

Tatarstan Chief State Inspector of Fire Inspectorate Sergey Sergeev said that the special fire prevention regime will be on in the republic from December, 25.

The specialists of the regional Ministry of Emergency Situations will be on duty at the objects with large gatherings of people.
