On January 9, speaking at a briefing at the Cabinet of Ministers of the republic, Head of the Culture Department of Kazan Azat Abzalov reported that more than 550 entertainment activities were held in 55 New Year sites during New Year holiday period. Thus, on average, at least 10 events were held at every New Year site.
"Festive events were held almost daily in New Year sites organized in the city. All the New Year programmes were universal both for children and young people, as well as for grandparents," he said.
According to the official, it was possible to increase the festive activity thanks to the implementation of the new programme "Winter in Parks", as well as the opening of new New Year sites.
According to Kazan city administration's press office, from 2,500 to 5,000 people attended the ice rink in the Black Lake park since its opening daily, while 3,000 people celebrated the New Year’s Eve at the ice rink.
As noted at the meeting, invited and local artists performed in the parks and squares of the republic for a few days.
