Rustam Minnikhanov attends performance in Opera and Ballet Theatre

Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov attended an opera performance “Madame Butterfly” in Tatar State Opera and Ballet Theatre named after Musa Jalil on February, 5. The performance was held in the context of anniversary XXX International Opera Festival named after Feodor Shalyapin.
Before the performance Head of Tatarstan Republic shared his expectations in the interview by “Efir” TV channel. The Republic is becoming more attractive for world culture celebrities, Rustam Minnikhanov noted. “Our Republic is often considered to be industrial, oil, sport region. But we should not forget about culture component. Such festivals give Tatarstan citizens an opportunity to see world-known celebrities”, Rustam Minnikhanov believes.
XXX International Opera Festival named after Feodor Shalyapin is being held in Kazan on the stage of Tatar State Opera and Ballet Theatre named after Musa Jalil on February, 1-17, 2012.
The Shalyapin forum is the oldest one in the post-Soviet space, there is no similar festival with such a long-lasting history in Russia. The festival was founded in 1982 on the motherland of an outstanding Russian bass singer Feodor Shalyapin, Kazan. In 1985 the event obtained the status of All-Russia festival and became international in 1995.
XXX Shalyapin festival will become the most long-lasting, it will last for 17 days. 12 opera performances and two gala concerts will be on the repertoire. More than 60 outstanding singers, representing the best theatres of Russia, CIS, Europe and USA will take part in the event.
On 15 December, speaking at a meeting of the competition committee of the regional public competition “The Manager of the Year” about its results in 2025, Tatarstan Prime Minister Aleksey Pesoshin said that the list of 155 participants (nominees), who are heads of enterprises and organizations from various industries and sectors of the economy, for the competition was formed based on recommendations from regional ministries and departments, city and district municipalities, employers' associations and the Federation of Trade Unions of the republic.
On 6 December speaking at a regional meeting held by the Rais (Head) of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov in the Government House of the republic with all municipalities taking part in it via videoconference, the regional Minister of Construction, Architecture and Housing Utilities Sector Marat Ayzatullin reported about progress in implementation of the of multi-apartment houses capital overhaul programme.
On 5 December, congratulating volunteers with the International Volunteers Day, Tatarstan Deputy Prime Minister Leyla Fazleeva wrote in her address: “
Your boundless kindness, sincere desire to help others and active civic position deserve special recognition and deep gratitude. There are over 5,000 volunteer associations operating successfully in Tatarstan, with a total membership of over 220,000 caring people of all ages and professions. Every year the contribution of volunteers into public life of the republic becomes more noticeable.
On 4 December Tatarstan Deputy Prime Minister Shamil Gafarov, who is the Chief of Staff of the Office of the Cabinet of Ministers of the republic, took part in a strategic session on the establishment of an inter-university campus in the republic being held at the Kazan Aircraft University on 4-6 December with participation of more than 100 people and more than 40 experts in politics, economy, science, education and industry from all over Russia.
