On June 6, at the Cabinet of Ministers of the republic, Tatarstan Deputy Prime Minister Leila Fazleeva had a meeting with organizers and participants who got the highest grades of the international educational Total dictation campaign among Tatarstan citizens, where they were awarded letters of gratitude of the Ministry of Youth of the republic and the Regional Ministry of Education and Science.

“Total dictation is an educational campaign. On the other hand, it is an event that draws attention to language issues in Russia and around the world. I am glad that the number of participants of the campaign is growing every year. The results are also being improved, because the educational community of the republic is doing a great deal to ensure a high level of the knowledge of the Russian language. I am sure that the campaign will be successful in the future,” Fazleeva said.

Head of the Council of the Russian National Cultural Association of Kazan Irina Aleksandrovskaya emphasized that 4 per cent of residents of the republic got “excellent” marks for their dictation compared to 2.5 per cent in 2016.

Over 4,000 people took part in the campaign this year in Tatarstan.
