The biggest printed Koran enters the Guinness Book of Records

The Republican fund of historical and cultural monuments has received the “Certificate of world Guinness Records” from the Commission of the Guinness Book of Records.
The Certificate reads,
“The world’s biggest printed Koran with the following parameters: hight – 2 m( 6 feet 6,74 inches), width – 1,52 m (4 feet, 11,84 inches), thickness – 0,17 m (6,69 inches), made by ARC Group S.R.L. company (Italy), masters Nejan Bratasevich, Andrey Chernatich (Slovenia) and Mauro Loche (Italy), handed over to Kul-Sharif Mosque (Kazan, the Republic of Tatarstan) by the Republican fund of historical and cultural monuments (Russia) on November, 17, 2011”.
We remind that the biggest printed Koran is now in Kul-Sharif Mosque. This year in May it will be transported to Bolgar and placed in the main hall of Commemorative token in honor of official adoption of Islam by Volga Bulgars in 922.
The initiative of publishing an exclusive Koran belongs to the Chairman of JSC “AKIBANK” Board Ildar Galyautdinov. The idea was realized under the auspices of Republican Fund “Vozrozhdenie” and personal participation of Mintimer Shaimiev, Chairman of board of trustees of Fund “Vozrozhdenie”, RT State Counselor.
In virtue of uniqueness and high level of artistic performance Koran was recognized a cultural property by the RF Ministry of culture (the conclusion of Department of cultural heritage of the RF Ministry of culture dated as of 16.11.2011 № 449-05-05).
On 15 December, speaking at a meeting of the competition committee of the regional public competition “The Manager of the Year” about its results in 2025, Tatarstan Prime Minister Aleksey Pesoshin said that the list of 155 participants (nominees), who are heads of enterprises and organizations from various industries and sectors of the economy, for the competition was formed based on recommendations from regional ministries and departments, city and district municipalities, employers' associations and the Federation of Trade Unions of the republic.
On 6 December speaking at a regional meeting held by the Rais (Head) of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov in the Government House of the republic with all municipalities taking part in it via videoconference, the regional Minister of Construction, Architecture and Housing Utilities Sector Marat Ayzatullin reported about progress in implementation of the of multi-apartment houses capital overhaul programme.
On 5 December, congratulating volunteers with the International Volunteers Day, Tatarstan Deputy Prime Minister Leyla Fazleeva wrote in her address: “
Your boundless kindness, sincere desire to help others and active civic position deserve special recognition and deep gratitude. There are over 5,000 volunteer associations operating successfully in Tatarstan, with a total membership of over 220,000 caring people of all ages and professions. Every year the contribution of volunteers into public life of the republic becomes more noticeable.
On 4 December Tatarstan Deputy Prime Minister Shamil Gafarov, who is the Chief of Staff of the Office of the Cabinet of Ministers of the republic, took part in a strategic session on the establishment of an inter-university campus in the republic being held at the Kazan Aircraft University on 4-6 December with participation of more than 100 people and more than 40 experts in politics, economy, science, education and industry from all over Russia.
