Rustam Minnikhanov and Vladimir Yakunin discuss joint projects of Tatarstan and Russian railways

President of the Republic of Tatarstan has met with President of JSC “Russian railways” Vladimir Yakunin in Moscow. Realization of several investment projects by JSC “Russian railways” in Tatarstan was discussed at the meeting.
In particular, the parties spoke about organization of intermodal transport, modernization of “Kazan” station and construction of terminal for aeroexpress in the international airport “Kazan”. 23 of 26, 5 km of railways were laid in 2011 during realization of the project. The project is expected to be finished in 2012.
Later on Rustam Minnikhanov and Vladimir Yakunin discussed development of the railway infrastructure of Kama economic region including the territory adjoining special economic zone “Alabuga”.
RT President informed that the growth of production volume of the enterprises located in Kama industrial hub requires increase of railway capacity. It is expected that by 2020 60 companies will be registered at SEZ “Alabuga” that will lead to increase of goods traffic flow.
On 15 December, speaking at a meeting of the competition committee of the regional public competition “The Manager of the Year” about its results in 2025, Tatarstan Prime Minister Aleksey Pesoshin said that the list of 155 participants (nominees), who are heads of enterprises and organizations from various industries and sectors of the economy, for the competition was formed based on recommendations from regional ministries and departments, city and district municipalities, employers' associations and the Federation of Trade Unions of the republic.
On 6 December speaking at a regional meeting held by the Rais (Head) of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov in the Government House of the republic with all municipalities taking part in it via videoconference, the regional Minister of Construction, Architecture and Housing Utilities Sector Marat Ayzatullin reported about progress in implementation of the of multi-apartment houses capital overhaul programme.
On 5 December, congratulating volunteers with the International Volunteers Day, Tatarstan Deputy Prime Minister Leyla Fazleeva wrote in her address: “
Your boundless kindness, sincere desire to help others and active civic position deserve special recognition and deep gratitude. There are over 5,000 volunteer associations operating successfully in Tatarstan, with a total membership of over 220,000 caring people of all ages and professions. Every year the contribution of volunteers into public life of the republic becomes more noticeable.
On 4 December Tatarstan Deputy Prime Minister Shamil Gafarov, who is the Chief of Staff of the Office of the Cabinet of Ministers of the republic, took part in a strategic session on the establishment of an inter-university campus in the republic being held at the Kazan Aircraft University on 4-6 December with participation of more than 100 people and more than 40 experts in politics, economy, science, education and industry from all over Russia.
