Rustam Minnikhanov: Airport “Kazan” will become a serious strategic advantage for development of Laishevo region

President of the Republic of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov noted positive changes in development of Laishevo municipal region at a session of the local Council.
“As for the potential of Laishevo region I think today it is the most attractive territory both for development of business and investments and for living,” Rustam Minnikhanov said.
By words of RT President there is a whole energy cluster now in the region (the plant on producing cabling and wiring production “Tatcable”, a member of “Invent” group of companies. The output is intended for the energy sector).
Rustam Minnikhanov believes the region now needs a serious development strategy.
Head of republic stressed as well that international airport “Kazan” that will become absolutely new international complex may become a serious strategic advantage for development of Laishevo region and recruitment of potential investors.
RT President briefly informed about tasks being fulfilled in republic such as construction of commercial and social housing, the program of major repair of multi-apartment houses, provision of places in kindergartens (“Belekech” program).
He also told about new programs, in particular a three-year program aimed at repairing comprehensive schools which have been used for 30 years, construction of medical and obstetric centres, houses of culture and sports objects in the regions.
On 15 December, speaking at a meeting of the competition committee of the regional public competition “The Manager of the Year” about its results in 2025, Tatarstan Prime Minister Aleksey Pesoshin said that the list of 155 participants (nominees), who are heads of enterprises and organizations from various industries and sectors of the economy, for the competition was formed based on recommendations from regional ministries and departments, city and district municipalities, employers' associations and the Federation of Trade Unions of the republic.
On 6 December speaking at a regional meeting held by the Rais (Head) of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov in the Government House of the republic with all municipalities taking part in it via videoconference, the regional Minister of Construction, Architecture and Housing Utilities Sector Marat Ayzatullin reported about progress in implementation of the of multi-apartment houses capital overhaul programme.
On 5 December, congratulating volunteers with the International Volunteers Day, Tatarstan Deputy Prime Minister Leyla Fazleeva wrote in her address: “
Your boundless kindness, sincere desire to help others and active civic position deserve special recognition and deep gratitude. There are over 5,000 volunteer associations operating successfully in Tatarstan, with a total membership of over 220,000 caring people of all ages and professions. Every year the contribution of volunteers into public life of the republic becomes more noticeable.
On 4 December Tatarstan Deputy Prime Minister Shamil Gafarov, who is the Chief of Staff of the Office of the Cabinet of Ministers of the republic, took part in a strategic session on the establishment of an inter-university campus in the republic being held at the Kazan Aircraft University on 4-6 December with participation of more than 100 people and more than 40 experts in politics, economy, science, education and industry from all over Russia.
