IT lyceum of the Kazan federal university starts working on September 1, 2012

Specialized lyceum-boarding school for talented children major in IT starts working in Kazan on September 1, 2012. This issue has been discussed at today’s briefing in RT Government House.
According to the first Deputy Minister of education and science Danil Mustafin, the lyceum will be located on the territory of Universiade Village. Residential and academic premises are intended for 360 children.
Studies will be organized on a full-time basis. In the morning pupils will study comprehensive subjects, in the afternoon they will be engaged in project activity, sport training, and moral education. IT will be the main specialization area.
Danil Mustafin informed that some subjects are to be taught in English. Young post-graduates and candidates of science will be involved in teaching process. The most up-to-date equipment will be provided for the lyceum. Every pupil will have a tablet computer, a reader for electronic books, and a personal tutor.
The Pro-rector of the Kazan federal university Riyaz Minzaripov informed that activity-specific specialization will be organized in the lyceum. Learning of two foreign languages, European and Eastern, will be one of the compulsory conditions.
The studying process will be implemented in close cooperation with specialized departments of the Kazan federal university. To enter the lyceum students will have to pass through a serious competitive selection. They can demonstrate their skills in online contests, and traditional subject competitions.
According to Riyaz Minzaripov, the institution is meant to be a structural subdivision of the Kazan federal university. Federal funding will be provided. Student will not pay for studying and accommodation.
On 15 December, speaking at a meeting of the competition committee of the regional public competition “The Manager of the Year” about its results in 2025, Tatarstan Prime Minister Aleksey Pesoshin said that the list of 155 participants (nominees), who are heads of enterprises and organizations from various industries and sectors of the economy, for the competition was formed based on recommendations from regional ministries and departments, city and district municipalities, employers' associations and the Federation of Trade Unions of the republic.
On 6 December speaking at a regional meeting held by the Rais (Head) of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov in the Government House of the republic with all municipalities taking part in it via videoconference, the regional Minister of Construction, Architecture and Housing Utilities Sector Marat Ayzatullin reported about progress in implementation of the of multi-apartment houses capital overhaul programme.
On 5 December, congratulating volunteers with the International Volunteers Day, Tatarstan Deputy Prime Minister Leyla Fazleeva wrote in her address: “

There are over 5,000 volunteer associations operating successfully in Tatarstan, with a total membership of over 220,000 caring people of all ages and professions. Every year the contribution of volunteers into public life of the republic becomes more noticeable.
On 4 December Tatarstan Deputy Prime Minister Shamil Gafarov, who is the Chief of Staff of the Office of the Cabinet of Ministers of the republic, took part in a strategic session on the establishment of an inter-university campus in the republic being held at the Kazan Aircraft University on 4-6 December with participation of more than 100 people and more than 40 experts in politics, economy, science, education and industry from all over Russia.
