On November 26, Tatarstan Prime Minister Aleksey Pesoshin, who heads the Rugby Federation of Tatarstan, took part in a regular meeting of the High Council of Russian Rugby Federation in Moscow. The meeting decided to appoint a new coach of the Russian national rugby-7 team. The Fijian Serevi replaced Andrei Sorokin at this post.
The main tasks of the head coach will be the return of the national team to the World Series of Rugby-7 and the participation of the team in the Summer Olympic Games in Tokyo in 2020.
Chairman of the High Council of Russian Rugby Federation Igor Artemyev added that the federation will draw up a financial plan for training the Russian national team for the following competitions.
