Mintimer Shaimiev lays the foundation of apple garden at island-town Sviyazhsk

Foundation of an apple garden was laid in the reserve-museum “Island-town Sviyazhsk” today.
RT State Counselor, Chairman of the Guardian Board of the Republican fund “Vozrozhdenie” (Revival) Mintimer Shaimiev attended the event.
The event took place within the limits of the National Day of forest planting being held throughout republic today.
Nurslings of fruit trees were brought from the Leo Tolstoy estate.
“The idea of this project was not random. Representatives of Tolstoy family were Sviyazhsk voivodes in 17th and 18th century. As you know, Leo Tolstoy spent his youth years on the Kazan land,” acting director of the museum “Island-town Sviyazhsk”, Deputy Director on scientific research work Svetlana Frolova said.
Residents of the island-town, pupils of the local school, workers of the reserve-museum “Island-town Sviyazhsk” and pupils of gymnasium №7 took part in tree-planting.
Mintimer Shaimiev also visited the Church of Constantine and Helena under restoration.
On 15 December, speaking at a meeting of the competition committee of the regional public competition “The Manager of the Year” about its results in 2025, Tatarstan Prime Minister Aleksey Pesoshin said that the list of 155 participants (nominees), who are heads of enterprises and organizations from various industries and sectors of the economy, for the competition was formed based on recommendations from regional ministries and departments, city and district municipalities, employers' associations and the Federation of Trade Unions of the republic.
On 6 December speaking at a regional meeting held by the Rais (Head) of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov in the Government House of the republic with all municipalities taking part in it via videoconference, the regional Minister of Construction, Architecture and Housing Utilities Sector Marat Ayzatullin reported about progress in implementation of the of multi-apartment houses capital overhaul programme.
On 5 December, congratulating volunteers with the International Volunteers Day, Tatarstan Deputy Prime Minister Leyla Fazleeva wrote in her address: “
Your boundless kindness, sincere desire to help others and active civic position deserve special recognition and deep gratitude. There are over 5,000 volunteer associations operating successfully in Tatarstan, with a total membership of over 220,000 caring people of all ages and professions. Every year the contribution of volunteers into public life of the republic becomes more noticeable.
On 4 December Tatarstan Deputy Prime Minister Shamil Gafarov, who is the Chief of Staff of the Office of the Cabinet of Ministers of the republic, took part in a strategic session on the establishment of an inter-university campus in the republic being held at the Kazan Aircraft University on 4-6 December with participation of more than 100 people and more than 40 experts in politics, economy, science, education and industry from all over Russia.
