Vladimir Leonov: 410 days left till Universiade – 2013 in Kazan

410 days are left till the World summer sport student Games 2013 (Universiade – 2013), Director general of ANO “Executive office of XXVII World summer Universiade – 2013” Vladimir Leonov said at a briefing at the RT Government House.
The briefing dedicated to construction works at Universiade objects was held in video conference format with participation of all municipal regions.
Vladimir Leonov briefly told about results of the inspection visit of FISU members to Kazan (April-May, 2012) and session of the FISU Executive committee held in Kazan on May 11-13, 2012.
In general, FISU officials were satisfied and appreciated the level of preparation for Universiade in summer of 2013, Vladimir Leonov said.
Director general of the Executive office of Universiade – 2013 noted that in particular, duration of the opening ceremony and starting time were discussed.
The opening ceremony of Universiade – 2013 is meant to last for about three hours starting at 7 or 8 p.m.
The sports training program has now been approved and work of referees defined. 2,5-3 thousand referees are to be involved in summer Games 2013.
Vladimir Leonov told in details about sports objects under reconstruction, such as stadium Raketa, Trudovye Reservy, sport complex Batyr, Complex of shooting sports and International equestrian center “Kazan”.
Official delegations, guests and members of the FISU Executive committee will be accommodated in 70 hotels. 9 hotels are now under construction.
Web portal of the Games is planned to be launched on June 30. Coverage of the Universiade will be provided in three languages – Russian, English and Tatar.
On 15 December, speaking at a meeting of the competition committee of the regional public competition “The Manager of the Year” about its results in 2025, Tatarstan Prime Minister Aleksey Pesoshin said that the list of 155 participants (nominees), who are heads of enterprises and organizations from various industries and sectors of the economy, for the competition was formed based on recommendations from regional ministries and departments, city and district municipalities, employers' associations and the Federation of Trade Unions of the republic.
On 6 December speaking at a regional meeting held by the Rais (Head) of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov in the Government House of the republic with all municipalities taking part in it via videoconference, the regional Minister of Construction, Architecture and Housing Utilities Sector Marat Ayzatullin reported about progress in implementation of the of multi-apartment houses capital overhaul programme.
On 5 December, congratulating volunteers with the International Volunteers Day, Tatarstan Deputy Prime Minister Leyla Fazleeva wrote in her address: “

There are over 5,000 volunteer associations operating successfully in Tatarstan, with a total membership of over 220,000 caring people of all ages and professions. Every year the contribution of volunteers into public life of the republic becomes more noticeable.
On 4 December Tatarstan Deputy Prime Minister Shamil Gafarov, who is the Chief of Staff of the Office of the Cabinet of Ministers of the republic, took part in a strategic session on the establishment of an inter-university campus in the republic being held at the Kazan Aircraft University on 4-6 December with participation of more than 100 people and more than 40 experts in politics, economy, science, education and industry from all over Russia.
