Ceremony of laying the foundation of plant on carbon fiber processing held at SEZ Alabuga

Ceremony of laying the foundation of the plant on carbon fiber processing was held at SEZ Alabuga today. President of the Republic of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov, Director general of SC “Rosatom” Sergey Kirienko, Deputy RF Minister of economic development Oleg Saveliev, Director general of ZAO “HC “Komposit” Leonid Melamed attended the event.

Sergey Kirienko congratulated everyone on beginning the construction of the plant. He said that there are no similar plants in Russia, therefore it is an important event for space, aircraft, atomic industries.

To the point, the project of constructing the plant on carbon fiber processing is realized by the Holding Company “Komposit” which became the resident of SEZ Alabuga on the eve of 2012. The plant will become the largest one in Russia and CIS countries and will be fitted with up-to-date equipment. Total cost of the project is 3,3 bln roubles.

Director general of SC “Rosatom” thanked RT President Rustam Minnikhanov for support in the project realization and future maintenance of the plant on the Tatarstan territory.

Rustam Minnikhanov considers the project to be contemporary and promising. He thanked Sergey Kirienko for choosing special economic zone Alabuga for locating the enterprise.

RT President also reminded about launching another project at the Kazan Aircraft Production Association (KAPO) named after Gorbunov this year, - the so-called “black wing”.
