On May 25, speaking at a video-conference held by Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov with the participation of all municipal regions of the republic and Tatarstan Prime Minister Aleksey Pesoshin, Minister of Agriculture and Food of the republic Marat Akhmetov reported that the sowing of main spring crops is almost complete in Tatarstan.
Thus, a total of 1.75 million hectares (99 per cent), 1.0 million hectares (99 per cent) of spring grains have been sown in the republic. As many as 21,200 hectares of corn, 5,500 hectares of buckwheat, 5,000 hectares of annual herbs, 1,400 hectares of seed potato, 300 hectares of vegetables need to be sown.
Akhmetov also reported on the condition of perennial grasses in the fields of municipal regions. “The quality of feed determines the economic efficiency of milk production and the level of animal productivity,” the Minister said.
Akhmetov commented in more detail on control over the availability of veterinary accompanying documents when selling poultry and raised the issue of overdue wage arrears at agricultural enterprises of the republic.
