On June 6, Tatarstan Prime Minister Aleksey Pesoshin introduced a new head, former Head of Almetyevsk region Airat Khairullin, to the staff of Tatarstan Ministry of Information and Communications.
Roman Shaykhutdinov, who previously headed the Ministry of Information and Communications of the republic, was appointed Deputy Prime Minister of Tatarstan with the area of responsibility – the issues of the development of the Innopolis project.
Pesoshin noted that Khairullin in his working career held various post in the Ministry of Information and Communications of the republic, the Ministry of Transport and Roads of the republic, Tatarstan Centre of Information Technologies, the Cabinet of Ministers of the republic of Tatarstan, the Office of Tatarstan President. According to Tatarstan Prime Minister, holding every post, Khairullin paid considerable attention to the development and improvement of IT technologies. Since 2015, he headed the Almetyevsk region.
“The ministry and the new minister face very difficult issues. The fact that Airat Rinatovich worked in the municipality will play an important role in this work, because he has to work out a whole range of municipal services. The Ministry will face challenges related to the digital economy, the transition to digital broadcasting, the transfer of regional institutions to a centralized accounting system, the development of the Safe City programme, the deployment of 5G network and many others,” Pesoshin said.
He congratulated Khairullin on his appointment and expressed confidence that the new minister and subordinate authority will manage the tasks.
