Rustam Minnikhanov launches Europe’s largest press for plastics in Nizhnekamsk

President of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov has launched the largest in Russia and Eastern Europe injection-molding machine for new polymer processing line. Containers for household solid wastes will be produced at new line of “Ai Plast” plant.

The Nizhnekamsk enterprise “Ai Plast” is one of the leading Russian producers of large industrial plastic packaging. There are 550 employees working at the plant. In 2011, the plant’s revenue made 4.6 bln roubles, 46000 tons of polymeric materials were processed, 95 percent of which was produced in Tatarstan.

New production line based on the largest in Russia and Eastern Europe injection-molding machine TPA 5500 with the clamping force of 5500 tons has been launched at the plant today. The machine was produced by Engel company.

Funding of new production with the output of 7000 tons of high-density polyethylene per year made 468 mln roubles; by 2014 annual revenue is to make 1 bln roubles per year.

The Tatarstan President noted that “Ai Plast” is becoming the world-class company. Rustam Minnikhanov said that containers for household solid wastes are in-demand in Russia. “New containers are of the same quality as foreign equivalents and are cheaper. We invited heads of our cities to offer this produce. We will do our best to promote it throughout the country,” the Tatarstan President said.

Head of republic is sure that “Ai Plast” products will be in-demand in military-industrial complex, automobile and aircraft industries. “Since new machines and produce appear, it speaks about your rapid development. We support you in this and congratulate on today’s event,” Rustam Minnikhanov addressed workers of the enterprise.

President of Tatarstan thanked Director General of Nizhnekamskneftekhim Vladimir Busygin for support in realization of polymer processing projects.
