On October 4, at the Government House of the republic, Tatarstan Prime Minister Aleksey Pesoshin held a meeting via video-conferencing with the participation of all municipalities on the readiness of Tatarstan to the transition to digital television.
On the 14th of October, the analogue broadcasting of federal television channels will be turned off in the republic and other 20 Russian regions. This will be the final point of a large-scale project.
Making a keynote report at the meeting, Minister of Digitalization of Public Administration, Information Technologies and Communications of the republic Ayrat Khayrullin said in particular that today 157 settlements of Tatarstan are outside the coverage area of digital television. Dwellers of these settlements need to tap into the satellite or IP television. For certain categories of citizens of the republic, subsidizing measures for the purchase and installation of necessary equipment have been taken.
