On November 15, Tatarstan Prime Minister Aleksey Pesoshin, who is a member of the Supreme Council of the Russian Rugby Federation, took part in an extraordinary election meeting of the Russian Rugby Federation, held during the Rugby Week, where all regional federations and members of clubs were represented.
The meeting considered and approved the reports of the Council and the Board of the Russian Rugby Federation and amended the Charter of the All-Russian Public Organization of the same Federation.
The meeting elected the members of the Supreme Council and the Audit Commission of the Federation and made a presentation of the development strategy of rugby in Russia in 2020-2023.
Chairman of the Supreme Council of the Russian RugbyFederation Igor Artemyev said that major reforms take place in Russian rugby, including a significant increase in the number of regional federations.
In particular, during the last two years over 200 children’s and youth club have been established. Three centers of training and retraining have been launched, namely, the Rugby Academy Centre, the Siberia Rugby Academy, the South Rugby Academy and the Methodical Centre for the Youth Rugby Development.
